The Osprey Packs Kestrel Backpack is the ultimate “go anywhere, do anything” backpack. You can use it for everything from a multi-day desert jaunt to an overnight hut trip. The Kestrel pack comes in two torso sizes. For a more custom fit they come with an adjustable harness.
The pack is well made and has plenty of pockets and straps to tighten up the load and ensure packed items don’t shift whilst on the move. The bottom of the main chamber has a divider to keep your sleeping bag separate from the top portion.
The Airscape backpanel does not eliminate back sweating, but it does help ensure a more comfortable ride. The pack comes with an integrated rain fly cover that can be removed to save weight if weather is good. It comes with external tool straps that can be used to easily carry mountain and ice axes .

“Love, love this pack. Fits well for my longer torso (I’m also 6’1″ tall). I think the price point around $150 is a great price for this pack. I’ve used it on 5 trips this year (2014) and haven’t seem any damage or signs of fatigue. Works really well for up to 40-45 lbs (but under 35 I prefer) and I’ve done several 3-4 day back country hikes with it and I prefer it over the other larger or smaller packs I have or have had.“

“Osprey has some great stuff and this pack is definitley one of them, this thing is perfect for weekend travel. The hood part has two zipped pockets and the bottom has one large one to stow away. Comes with a built in rain cover that can be easily pulled out to use.“
